2008 Currie Cup First Division Results

The 2008 Currie Cup First Division was played for by 6 teams and was the 2nd tier of the Currie Cup competition. It acted as the feeder competition for the Currie Cup Premier Division which played for the Currie Cup trophy.

Teams played each other twice on a home and away basis. After the pool play, the top 4 teams played semi-finals and the final to find the winner.

At the completion of the competition, there was a promotion/relegation series involving the top two teams from the First Division and the bottom two teams from the Premier Division.

The Griffons won the 2008 Currie Cup First Division.

Promotion/Relegation

Following the conclusion of the Currie Cup competitions a promotion/relegation series was played. The top placed First Division team played the bottom placed Premier Division team. The second placed First Division team played the 2nd to bottom placed Premier team.

The teams played home and away, with the winner determined by the competition points scored over the two games.
