The 2015 Currie Cup First Division was played for by 6 teams. Initially, there were 7 teams playing in the first round of matches. The top team at the completion of this qualification round will then be promoted to the Premier Division. The remaining 6 teams will then continue with the First Division competition. Points were carried over from the first round matches, with the exception of those from matches against the promoted team. Teams played each other on a home and away basis in pool play. At the completion of these games, the top 4 teams played in Semi-Finals, with the winners progressing on to the Final. |
If the Pumas or the qualifying team (or both) finish in the bottom two positions of the Premier Division then they will join the qualifying competition the following year. If both those teams finish higher in the table there will not be a qualifying competition the following year.
