The National Rugby Championship is the leading domestic professional rugby competition in Australia. It started in 2014 in a bid to further develop rugby in the country. It will be sponsored by Buildcorp in 2015. There will be 9 teams playing in the competition and they will play each other on a home and away basis. The top 4 teams will then play in semi-finals with the winners going on to the final. In a change from all other rugby competitions around the world, the National Rugby Championship will feature a number of Experimental Law Variations. These are all to try to increase the level of entertainment for the viewing public. The biggest changes are to the points system.
