The 2000 Currie Cup qualification Tournament was the first stage of the 2000 Currie Cup.
There were two sections of 7 teams and each team played the others in their section once. The top 4 teams in each section qualified for the Currie Cup Top 8 and the bottom 3 teams qualified for the 2000 Bankfin Cup.
Points earned against the other qualifying teams were carried forward to the next stage of the competition.
